Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger, Bishop of Albany, will preside at the Chrism Mass on Thursday, April 7, at 7 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (125 Eagle St., Albany).
During the Mass, Bishop Scharfenberger will bless three oils: the oil of catechumens, the oil of the infirm and holy chrism, which will be used in the administration of the sacraments in parishes throughout the Diocese in the year ahead.
In addition, everyone assembled in the cathedral will renew their baptismal promises and priests and deacons will renew their promises originally made at their ordination.
