The Holy Trinity flag football team captured the Section II Class C championship on May 22 with a 19-0 shutout of Broadalbin-Perth at Troy High School. The Pride, which is composed of students from Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons School and Catholic Central School, then advanced to the state playoffs where they lost to Beekman, 13-12, at Ausable Valley High School on May 28. The future is bright for the Pride and girls’ flag football, which is one of the fastest growing high school sports in the state. Congratulations to coach E.J. Hakala and his assistant, Rocco Tobin-Legere. The team is made up of Karla Diaz, tri-captain Emma Sagendorf, Haylie Banardo, Giana Dickson, Chelsea Johnson, Cassandra Padilla, Chloe Johnson, Miskaela Morfa, Narkie Amoyaw, Carmel Bernardino, Vanessa Dalzell, tri-captain Brooklyn Moore, tri-captain Kristen Foglia, Jay Rosado and Karri Gaddy.
