Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger presided over the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany on April 10. Bishop Scharfenberger blessed three oils: the oil of catechumens, the oil of the sick and holy chrism, which will be used in the administration of the sacraments in parishes throughout the Diocese of Albany in the coming year. In addition, the faithful in the Cathedral renewed their baptismal promises, and priests and deacons renewed their ordination promises.
