The New York State Eucharistic Congress took place Oct. 20-22 at Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville. Over 11,000 Catholics attended the three-day event which had a stated goal of restoring devotion to the Real Presence of Jesus found in the Eucharist. Highlights of the event were Masses celebrated by Bishop Terry R. LaValley of the Diocese of Ogdensburg and Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger of the Diocese of Albany, as well as talks by nationally known speakers.
