Teacher's memoir recalls 'Voices from Room 6'
After 47 years as a teacher at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons School in Schenectady, Dr. Paul O'Brien felt he needed some closure. The teacher, who retired in 2014, recently wrote a memoir titled, "Voices from Room 6: A Teacher Remembers."

Earlier this month, Albany's LaSalle School celebrated the grand reopening of the George E. Hanner Center for Excellence and Lasallian Mission. The building, constructed in 1979, is a hub for training, community events and meetings that help promote a safe and educational environment for the students.

Conservation Day educates Herkimer sixth-graders
Sixth-graders from St. Francis de Sales School in Herkimer went fishing for knowledge in May. The class attended the annual 4-H Conservation Field Day School Enrichment Program to learn about environmental issues.

Nurses can work and earn degree through new Siena program
Nursing students working toward a bachelor's degree will now be able to work full-time and still attend classes, thanks to the new Baldwin nursing program being introduced at Siena College in Loudonville this fall.
