“Blessing Bag” Donation Drive at Holy Family Parish in Little Falls (763 E. Main St.): In collaboration with Loaves and Fishes Warming Center, parishioners and community members are encouraged to donate essential personal-care items in the main vestibule of the church. These items will later be assembled as “blessing bags” to help the area’s homeless population and others in need. The items most needed include: hats, mittens, socks, underwear, brushes, hygiene products, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, Band-Aids and snacks. Friday Fish Dinners at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Parish Center (400 Saratoga Road) from 4-6:30 p.m., or until sold out. Hosted by the Knights of Columbus, join us each Friday in March (March 6, 13, 20, 27) for a fish dinner during Lent. Indoor dining will consist of your choice of fried or baked haddock, fries or baked potato, along with coleslaw, dessert, coffee or drink. Takeout orders of fried haddock, fried potato, coleslaw and dessert are available. All dinners are $15. Mac and cheese dinners are available for children 6 years and under for $5. Corned Beef Dinner sponsored by St. Mary’s Church, Crescent (86 Church Hill Road) at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Dinner includes corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, rye bread and soda bread, dessert and beverages. Dinner costs $12 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and families are $25. The Latham-Colonie Columbiettes are hosting a breakfast buffet from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus Council (328 Troy-Schenectady Road). Menu includes: scrambled eggs, an omelet station, home fries, corned beef hash, bacon and sausage, pancakes and French toast served with warm syrup, a variety of cereals and juices, bananas and hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Adults are $15, children (5-10) are $6 and children under 5 are free.

Pockets of Love at St. Edward the Confessor (569 Clifton Park Center Road) from 2-4 p.m. Please join us in the St. Ed’s social hall for fellowship and to assist women in shelters. We will be filling gently used pocketbooks with essential items and treats to be given to abused and homeless women. Please bring a gently used pocketbook, a piece of gently used costume jewelry, and 25 of the same item to fill the pocketbooks. Suggested items include: travel-size toiletries and dental hygiene items, hand warmers, baby wipes, female hygiene items, tissues, hand sanitizer, ChapStick, gloves, mini first-aid kit, granola bars — be creative!
