School Supplies for Low-Income Families assisted by Emmaus House (Albany Catholic Worker Community): Please bring donated school supplies or monetary donations to Emmaus House by Monday, Aug. 24 at 12 p.m. Supplies needed include backpacks for middle and high school students, lined paper (college and wide-ruled), boxes of pencils, three-ring binders, dry erase markers (black), glue sticks and other supplies. Supply Drive: The Columbiettes and Knights of Columbus Latham-Colonie #3394 (328 Troy-Schenectady Road) are hosting a school supplies drive to assist local families with needed school supplies for a successful school year! Any supply donations may be dropped off at the KOC from now through Labor Day, any time after 4 p.m.

Holy Day: Assumption of Mary at St. Henry’s Church (39 Old Route 66): There will be a special Vigil for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Adoration and confession from 5-6 p.m., rosary at 5:30 p.m., and Mass at 6 p.m.

Albany
Rosary Making at the Parish of Mater Christi (40 Hopewell St.) after 4 p.m. Mass. Please help us make 500 mission rosaries to send to the upcoming beatification celebration for Fulton Sheen. We have the supplies and instructions; we just need your help to make them! No special skill required! Join us on one of the dates below, or come to the office any weekday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and make a few on your own schedule. Remaining dates are Saturday, August 15 after the 4 p.m. Mass, and Sunday, August 16 after 11 a.m. Mass.

Emotional and Spiritual Grounding for Caregivers at the Dominican Retreat & Conference Center (1945 Union St.) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Caregiving asks more than time and energy — it asks us to remain present in moments that can feel uncertain, overwhelming or emotionally complex. This program invites caregivers to explore what it means to stay grounded not only emotionally, but spiritually, remaining engaged with both self and God in the midst of daily demands. Friday Fish Fry at Saratoga Knights of Columbus Council #246 (50 Pine Road) from 5-7 p.m. Due to the increased cost of ingredients, the price of our dinners has changed. Fried or baked fish dinners are $18 and a clam dinner is $15. Dinners include fries, coleslaw, tarter sauce, and cocktail sauce.
