On Sunday, Sept. 21, four parishes — All Saints, Blessed Sacrament, Mater Christi and Our Lady of the Americas — came together in a joyful display of unity and faith to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope with a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Albany.

The event marked a powerful moment of collaboration and devotion, bringing together parishioners from diverse backgrounds and traditions in a shared expression of love for the Eucharist. Spearheaded by Father Daniel Quinn and Father Stephen Yusko, the procession highlighted the beauty of community during a time when each parish is also engaged in its own “Remade for Mission” initiatives.

Each parish contributed unique elements to the celebration:

•  All Saints carried their processional cross,

•  Blessed Sacrament brought lit candles,

•  Mater Christi offered thuribles and boats for incense,

•  Our Lady of the Americas presented a beautifully adorned monstrance,

•  and the canopy used to shelter the Blessed Sacrament came from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Altar servers and choir members from all four parishes participated, along with a special musical offering from the local Pakistani Catholic community choir, further emphasizing the inclusive spirit of the day.

Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger joined the faithful for the procession, accompanying the Blessed Sacrament through the streets, blessing those gathered and reminding all of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. His presence helped elevate the occasion and served as a meaningful symbol of diocesan support and unity. Following benediction in the chapel, the celebration continued on the parish lawn with food, games and fellowship — offering a joyful, community-centered conclusion to a deeply spiritual day.

As the Church around the world celebrates the Jubilee Year of Hope, this procession served as a local testament to the power of faith, unity and the abiding love of Christ made visible in the Eucharist.
