St. Kateri to host concert with world-renowned organist
On Sunday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m., St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish (1803 Union St.) in Schenectady, will host a special, free concert by world-renowned organist Vincent Dubois, who serves as the titular organist at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. His concert appearances have taken him all over the world throughout Europe, North America, Asia and the Pacific.
“Vincent Dubois turns in absolutely stunning performances,” said a review in The American Organist. “He plays with consummate passion and breathtaking virtuosity.”
Dubois has appeared as guest soloist with many orchestras including, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Dallas Symphony, and the Orchestra National de France. His performances have been broadcast on American Public Media’s Pipedreams.
Noted for his dazzling performances, Dubois is one of the world’s greatest organists. This concert will be the second organ concert presented at St. Kateri since the Organ Dedication Recital last June when world famous duo organists Elizabeth and Raymond Chenault debuted the parish’s new custom hybrid (digital and pipes) Allen organ.
