40 Hours of Devotion at the Church of the Immaculate Conception (400 Saratoga Road) from Oct. 10, at 5 p.m., until Oct. 12, at 8:30 a.m. The event is in honor of and leading up to the Feast Day of St. Carlo Acutis, and is hosted by the Tri-Parish community of Our Lady of Grace in Ballston Lake, St. Joseph’s in Scotia and Immaculate Conception in Glenville. OLA Charity Knitting and Crochet Ministry at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish (498 Watervliet-Shaker Road. It’s that time of year! Our group generally meets on the second Monday of the month in the church library at 6:30 p.m. Due to the holiday, our meeting is on Tuesday, Oct. 14. All are welcome! Don’t know how to knit or crochet? We have yarn and needles or hooks, plus one of the group is always willing to teach a newbie. Hope to see you there!

Matthew Kelly’s “Holy Moments” book discussion group at St. Michael’s Church (20 Page Ave.) on the next three Thursdays in October, starting at 5 p.m. The book club will be centered around Matthew Kelly’s book “Holy Moments.” The first session will be informational and materials, which are free, will be distributed. Jam Session with the Latham Knights of Columbus (328 Troy Schenectady Road) starting at 7 p.m.  We’re trying something different and new. Join us for our first Friday Night Jam Session, open to any musician who would like to stop in and join other musicians in playing their instruments. Tyler Senecal plays guitar and he will be the person with whom you will be playing tunes with the most. It doesn’t matter what music you play, we’re just looking for an evening of music. All skill levels welcome!

Unleashing Love Women’s Conference at St. Edward the Confessor Church (569 Clifton Park Center Road): Join us for a day of talks, prayer and women empowerment! Check-in and coffee at 8 a.m., welcome Mass starts at 9 a.m., and closing remarks at 3:30 p.m. Topics from the day include “Finding God in the Struggles and Joys of Daily Life” and “Pray as you can, not as you can’t.” College-age and younger women are free but must register. Organized by the Youth Ministry Program, all proceeds go toward our upcoming trip to the National Catholic Youth Ministry Conference (NCYC).

A Knights of Columbus meatloaf dinner fundraiser will be held at Our Lady of Fatima (1735 Alexander Road) from 5 p.m. until sold out. Complete meatloaf dinner includes whipped potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread and dessert. Beverages are included if you eat in. The cost to eat in or take out is $12.

The Corpus Christi Church Fall Festival at Corpus Christi Church (2001 Route 9 and Ushers Road) will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Raffle baskets, Church Mice crafts, Rosary makers, and other specialty items will be available. Women’s Meal (hosted by the Albany Chapter of Magnificat) at The Vista Restaurant at Van Patten Golf Club (924 Main Street) from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Our witness speaker is Mary Fay, who has been in parish ministry since her youth. For the past 19 years, she has been the associate director at the Diocese of Albany in the Office for Discipleship Formation for Marriage and Family. She is also the coordinator for Pastoral Care Ministries and the director of Respect Life for the Diocese. With her husband, Brian, she has raised five adult children and they have been blessed with two grandchildren. She views her vocation of wife and mother as her most profound work.
