Free Family Fun Event Party on the Porch at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home (21 Midline Road) from 6-9 p.m. Join us for an evening of music, dancing and good old-fashioned fun! Come and enjoy live music by Grand Central Station in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Just bring your chairs and your favorite beverages to enjoy the entertainment. Pizza and ice cream sundaes will be available for purchase. A 50-50 drawing benefits the Animal Protective Foundation.

Annual Father’s Day Breakfast Buffet hosted by the Latham-Colonie Columbiettes (328 Troy-Schenectady Road) from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Menu includes scrambled eggs, an omelet station, home fries, corned beef hash, bacon and sausage, pancakes and French toast served with warm syrup, a variety of cereals and juices, bananas and hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Adults are $15, children (5-10) are $6, and children under 5 are free! (A $2 surcharge has been added to cover food costs — we apologize for this inconvenience!).

American Red Cross Blood Drive at Saint Madeleine Sophie Church Parish Center (3500 Carman Road) from 1-7 p.m. Please start your summer off by donating blood at a time when blood donations typically drop. Everyone who comes in to donate will receive a coupon for a free pint of Stewart’s ice cream, a $15 e-gift card by email and delicious homemade cookies. Anyone age 16 or older may donate. Walking and Exercise Groups at St. Edward the Confessor (569 Clifton Park Center Road) from 10:30-11 a.m. The exercise group is led by Pamela Yunginger, Parish Wellness Team physical therapist. The group meets on Tuesdays from 10:30-11 a.m. outside of the chapel or inside the social hall. The walking group meets at 11 a.m. outside of the chapel to walk either inside the building or outside, depending on the weather. There is also a Friday walking group that meets at 10:30 a.m. outside the chapel. Contact the parish office at (518) 371-7372 to be added to the weekly email list.

100th Anniversary Celebration of the North American Martyrs Beatification at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs (136 Shrine Road) from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The museum will be open with tours available. The day includes Eucharistic adoration, Mass, confession, Blessing of Martyrs Candle Shrine, exposition and Eucharistic procession, and more. Eucharistic Procession for the Feast of Corpus Christi: Please join in our celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi at St. Joseph’s Church (231 2nd St.) from 1-3 p.m. The Eucharist will be exposed on the altar during the usual adoration time (starting at 10 a.m.) until the procession begins at 1 p.m. After preparations and opening prayers, we will process outside and around the block singing praise to our Lord in the Eucharist, rain or shine. Hospitality will immediately follow in the church’s gathering space. We welcome desserts or finger foods to share. Paper products and water provided. Please make it a priority to spend this special afternoon with Jesus as we make Him present in public for His glory and praise. Please invite your friends and neighbors to join us!

Men’s Group Picnic/Meeting: Our Combined Men’s Group (from Church of the Holy Spirit and Holy Trinity Church) will hold a picnic/meeting at Spirit Central, located in the school building at Holy Spirit Church (151 South Main St.). The menu will consist of burgers, hot dogs, salads and dessert. Donation is $10. Beer and soda will be available for purchase. Our guest speaker will be Rich Nigro who will talk about his recent trip to the Camino de Santiago in Spain. All men are welcome to attend.

Free Opioid Overdose Training Seminar at St. Paul’s Church (346 West Main St.) at 6 p.m. in the Father Rausch Hall. This training takes approximately two hours and is presented by a NYS OASAS opioid overdose training specialist. Topics include addressing stigma, NYS 911 Good Samaritan Laws, overdose risk factors, recognizing and responding to an overdose, administration of naloxone, and reporting naloxone use. Clergy vs. Youth Softball Game at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons School (2600 Albany St.) at 6 p.m. Come watch as the clergy take on the youth in what promises to be an unforgettable game! Silver Sneakers Classic Strength and Balance Class at St. Edward the Confessor Church (569 Clifton Park Center Road) from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The Silver Sneakers Classic is a beginner-friendly strength and endurance class for seniors designed to be safe and effective. The focus is on improving strength, balance and range of motion. The class often utilizes chairs and handheld weights or resistance tubing.
