Silence, prayer and individual sharing/responding will help us find perspective about what is life-giving for us and our world. Six sessions will occur on Wednesdays from April 30 through June 4. Joint Parish Spring Cleanup at St. Francis South End (4th Ave. and Franklin St.) from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Please join us for a spring cleanup of the South End, Delaware Avenue and Cathedral worship sites. We’ll be starting at the South End at 9:30 a.m., with coffee and donuts, then moving to the Delaware site at around 11:30 a.m., with light lunch foods, to conclude at the Cathedral starting around 1:30 p.m. Cleanup projects will include weeding, planting and mulch in garden beds; scraping and painting fences and posts; cleaning steps and doors, etc. Bring your garden gloves, rakes and any other materials you think might be useful. If you can’t make it to all three sites, that’s no problem! We still want your help!

Fourteenth Annual Riverkeeper Sweep at Corning Preserve Riverfront Park (Corning Preserve, Quay St.) on Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join the CRICCC (Capital Region Interfaith Creation Care Coalition) for cleaning up our local nature preserve. This is a rain or shine event. Drop in whenever you can for any amount of time. Volunteers will meet at Jennings Landing in Albany Corning Preserve (1 Quay St, Albany). Equipment, maps of the area and instructions as to how to collect the trash will be given to you at the registration table. We recommend that all volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves, hand sanitizer and snacks. Bountiful Bread FUN-draiser for the Christ Child Society of Albany: Help raise money for a good cause while enjoying a delicious meal from Bountiful Bread in Stuyvesant Plaza on Tuesday, May 6, from 4-7 p.m. Bountiful Bread will donate 20 percent of the sales during that time back to the chapter. Eat-in, takeout and even GrubHub delivery orders during that time qualify. Thank you for your support!

Ziti and Meatball Dinner at Holy Spirit Church (151 South Main St.) from 5-7 p.m. in the church gym. Our youth takeout only. Donation: $10 for adults and $8 for kids 10 and under. Tickets will be available in the parish office beginning Monday, April 28.

Tag Sale at Immaculate Conception Church (400 Saratoga Road) for the Rosary Altar Society: We will be accepting items for donation from May 5-14, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., as well as from 6-8 p.m. on May 8, 9 and 12. Your donations are greatly appreciated; however, there are a few items we cannot accept as we do not have the means to dispose of them. These include: electronics, TVs, shoes, homemade DVDs, videotapes, out-of-season clothing, baby strollers and cribs, large pieces of furniture, or previously worn undergarments.
