Father Pascal A. “Pat” Iannotti, 93, of Amsterdam, a beloved Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Albany, died on March 31.

A lifelong area resident, Father Pat was born in Amsterdam on June 15, 1931, one of 12 children to the late Sisto and Agnese DiCaprio Iannotti. Following high school graduation, he studied at St. Andrew’s Seminary in Rochester and Our Lady of Angels in Niagara.

On May 27, 1961, he was ordained by Bishop William Scully and spent his entire ministry in the Mohawk Valley. He served as the parochial vicar of St. Mary’s in Frankfort, St. Mary’s in Little Falls and St. Joseph’s in Amsterdam. He was a member of the faculty at the former Bishop Scully High School for many years. Father Pat also served as the administrator of the former St. Joseph’s in Amsterdam and lastly as the pastor of the former St. Patrick’s in St. Johnsville. He retired from active ministry in 1998. Following retirement, he continued to work as a supply priest for 20 more years, serving in his home parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, as well as at St. Stephen’s Church in Hagaman, St. Mary’s Hospital and surrounding parishes in Montgomery County.

Father Pat is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, and his dear friends Father Randall Patterson and Father Brad A. Milunski, OFM Conv.

He was predeceased by his brothers Vincent, Ralph, Carl, Floyd and Gerald Iannotti; and his sisters, Infant Rosa Iannotti, Rosalie Morrone, Louise Carne­vale, Marion Iannotti, Mary Verderese and Sylvia Verderese.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial was offered on April 9 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Amsterdam with Father Patterson as principal celebrant. A Graveside Committal Service followed at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Father Pat’s name may be made to his beloved church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
