Glenville

BBQ Chicken Dinner at Immaculate Conception Church Parking Lot (400 Saratoga Road) from 4-7 p.m., or until sold out. Dinners are provided by Miller’s Backyard BBQ. Menu includes a half chicken or pork option with coleslaw, baked potato and cornbread. Drive-thru and takeout only! Dinners are $15; cash or check only. 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

Saratoga

Halfway to Saint Patrick’s Day at the Parting Glass (40-42 Lake Ave.) at 5 p.m. A fundraiser for the Ancient Order of the Hibernians Hunger Project to support local food pantries. Cost is $10 at the door and please consider bringing a shelf-stable food donation. The night will feature two Celtic bands, Triskele and Hair of the Dog, and performances by the Wild Irish Acres Dancers!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 

Schenectady

Drive-Through Chicken Barbeque at Our Lady Queen of Peace (210 Princetown Road) from 4 p.m. until sold out. Dinners prepared by Wagon Train Barbeque. Hosted by the OLQP Altar Rosary Society. Cost is $18.

Troy

Giuliano Chicken Barbeque hosted by the Women’s Guild of St. Michael the Archangel Parish (175 Williams Road) from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $15 per meal and consists of a half barbecued chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, corn on the cob, roll, and a homemade brownie. Jordan St. Cyr Concert at St. Matthew’s Church (25 Mountain­view St.) KLOVE Artist Jordan St. Cyr will join us at St. Matthew’s for an evening of fellowship and inspirational music! Tickets are $25 and include a meet and greet, complimentary refreshments and concert admission. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., meet and greet is 6-6:30 p.m., and the concert is 7-8:30 p.m.

Single Catholic Young Adult Women’s (age 25-35) Discern­ment Retreat at St. Joseph’s Residence (1365 Enfield St., Enfield, Conn). Themed “Be Still and Know That I am God,” this retreat from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon is a time for reflection and discernment. Special guests in­clude Father Anthony Federico, vocations director for the Archdiocese of Hartford; Simone Rizkallah, speaker and author; and the Little Sisters of the Poor. No registration fee. Life Chain Sunday with the Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe, held on the public sidewalk on Central Avenue (Route 5), near the Wolf Road intersection at Colonie Center shopping mall, from 2-3 p.m. Join us to stand in silent, prayerful witness to the sanctity of pre-born human life. The 52nd Annual Diocesan Marriage Jubilee Celebration at Christ Our Light Catholic Church (1 Maria Drive) at 3 p.m. Couples celebrating their 25th, 40th, 50th or other special wedding anniversaries are invited to attend this celebration. Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger will celebrate the Mass at 3 p.m. and greet couples and their guests at a reception in the parish hall immediately following Mass. Catholic Central School’s Centennial Golf Tournament at Albany Country Club (300 Wormer Rd, Voorheesville.). The Catholic Central School Centennial Year celebrations continue with our golf tournament. The event is open to the community and there is a dinner-only option for non-golfers that will include beautiful raffle prizes! Fee is $160 per golfer (18 holes, cart, lunch and dinner).
