BED BUILDING DAY!
St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Troy recently held its third annual Bed Building Day with “Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” a nationwide nonprofit organization committed to building beds for children without a bed. Children receiving these beds also receive all necessary bedding upon delivery of the frame.

The parish, with assistance from St. Jude the Apostle Church, Thrive Student Ministries (Our Savior’s Church) and the North Greenbush Kiwanis, built 30 beds on Aug. 17. In addition, Assemblyman John McDonald stopped by to assist with the parish’s mission.

The day was supported by a yearlong fundraising project by St. Michael’s Faith Formation Program. In three years, the parish has raised over $21,000 and built 87 beds. The parish is looking forward to continuing this tradition in 2025! (Photos provided)
