SATURDAY, MAY 18

Glens Falls

Community Climate Action Walk is a public event in downtown Glens Falls from 1-4 p.m. Gather at City Park by the Crandall Public Library at 1 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., walk down Glenn Street to Crandall Park for speakers and climate action tables. In response to the serious environmental crisis facing our planet, the Community Climate Action Walk provides the opportunity for individuals, families and organizations to come together and learn about local actions we can take to address the severe and far-reaching impacts of climate warming. The walk has been organized by the Unitarian Universalist Social Action Committee, St. Mary’s Social Justice Ministry and North Country Earth Action (NCEA), a citizens group for climate-action advocacy.  

SUNDAY, MAY 19

Albany

The 48th Charismatic Celebration of Pentecost at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (125 Eagle and Madison Avenue). Praise and Song will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by Liturgy at 5 p.m. The presider will be Father Marty Fisher. Healing prayer to follow after Mass.

Glenville

A Blessing of the Bikes at Immaculate Conception Church (400 Saratoga Road) at 2 p.m. in the parish parking lot. All rides are welcome! Bikes and trikes; human, electric or gas-powered! 

TUESDAY, MAY 21

Delmar

Eucharist Revival Series at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (35 Adams Place) at 7 p.m. Through the Eucharist, Jesus transforms us. He unites us physically and spiritually with Him. Through stories of conversion, healing and transformation, allow your soul to be nourished. Join us for this special evening, which will feature the conversion stories of four parishioners, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church as part of the Eucharistic Revival Series.

Taize Prayer Service at Christ Our Light Church (1 Maria Drive) at 6:30 p.m. Taize Prayer is a type of meditative prayer dating back to the monks in rural France. This quiet and peaceful prayer combines elements of the church’s traditional Liturgy of the Hours with elements of reflective meditation.

FRIDAY, MAY 24

Dolgeville/Little Falls

Praying the Seven Sorrows Rosary at Holy Family Parish (763 E. Main St. Little Falls) and St. Joseph Church (31 N. Helmer Ave., Dolgeville). We will begin praying the Seven Sorrows Rosary at both parishes on Fridays at 8:30 a.m., before the 9 a.m. Mass. There will be pamphlets at the entrances to both churches that describe the Seven Sorrows Rosary and how to pray this powerful devotion.

Street Dedication Ceremony at Mater Christi (40 Hopewell St.). We invite you to join the parish of Mater Christi and the City of Albany in a “Street Dedication Ceremony” to honor the life and legacy of Father Kenneth Doyle at 11 a.m., at Mater Christi in Albany. Also, there will be a Mass offered at Mater Christi on Memorial Day, May 27, at 11 a.m. in celebration of his life and ministry and in honor of the Memorial Day holiday. Chicken & Ribs BBQ at Noble Ace Hardware (783 E Main St.) hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 4475 from 4 p.m. until sold out. Chicken dinners are $15 and rib dinners are $17. Dinners include coleslaw, baked potato and a roll. Ten Pin Catering will cook. Proceeds will support the youth ministry at Our Lady of the Valley Church and a local seminarian.

Open Your Door to God’s Love Retreat at Christ the King Church (20 Sumter Ave.) 10 a.m.-3 p.m. This retreat is co-directed by Deacon Gary Riggi and Sister Dorothy Ederer. Lunch is included. Free will donations are accepted. Please register by May 18. Giant Indoor Garage Sale at Holy Trinity Church (1 Ste. Marie Lane): Join us for a weekend of fun! Our sale kicks off with a preview night on Thursday, June 6, from 6-8 p.m. ($5 admission), and continues Friday, June 7, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The Ladies of Ste.
