Community Performance of “They Live On … in Word and Song” at St. Vincent de Paul Church (900 Madison Ave.). St. Vincent de Paul is hosting a free community program to support those in various stages of caregiving and loss in the church worship space. Local author Patricia Nugent will present excerpts from her memoir, “They Live On: Saying Goodbye to Mom and Dad,” paired with original music by Michael Jerling. Catholic Moms Faith and Fellowship Retreat at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (42 Adams Place) at 10 a.m. in the church chapel. Join speaker Mary DeTurris Poust for a mini-retreat! All moms and their littles are welcome.

Wonderfully Made Mother-Daughter Tea at the Church of the Immaculate Conception (400 Saratoga Road) from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. All mothers and their daughters, ages 10-13, are invited to gather at Immacu­late Conception where you’ll enjoy a tea party and presentation that will empower mothers and their daughters to embrace God’s beautiful plan for fertility and becoming a woman. Village-wide Garage Sale at St. Francis of Assisi Church (501 Bridge St.) from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The parish will have a booth selling donated items, a bake sale booth, and a booth selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Looking West: The Story of Albert Nasib at Corpus Christi Parish (2001 US-9) at 12:30 p.m. in the Daily Mass Chapel. How does a teenage Lebanese immigrant find direction for his life in the United States in turbulent times? Let Albert Nasib Badre share his story with you. Learn how the Catholic Commu­nity, and especially the Eucha­rist, helped him build his successful life, career and family as a Catholic American college professor and author. Refresh­ments will be served. All are welcome. Books will be available for purchase following the 30-minute talk.

Blessing of the Bikes at the Church of St. Mary (163 Columbia Turnpike) at 5:30 p.m., in the parish parking lot. Join us for this annual blessing, hosted by the Melvin Roads American Legion Riders. All are welcome to attend! Bring your motorcycle, car or bicycle for the blessing.

Charismatic Healing Liturgy at Christ Our Light Church (1 Maria Drive). Prayer and Praise Music by Joyful Heart starts at 7 p.m., with Liturgy and Healing Prayer to follow at 7:30 p.m. Presider is Rev. Kyle Gorenski. Magnificat Women’s Breakfast at Wolferts Roost Country Club (120 Van Rensselaer Blvd.) hosted by the Gentle Woman of Praise Chapter of Magnificat. Check-in and seating begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by breakfast and program at 9 a.m., and prayer teams and confession at 12 p.m. Our guest speaker is Joyce Papa, a parishioner at St. Edward the Confes­sor Church, who has found joy in several ministries such as Eucharistic Minister, Mary’s Ladies of the Knots Ministry, sharing scripture and prayers during Hosanna Prayer Group, and working alongside teens within the church. Tickets must be purchased in advance, no tickets will be sold at the door. Registration deadline is May 8, 2024. Adults are $30; clergy and religious are complimentary but must still register. Open Your Door To God’s Love Retreat at Christ the King Church (20 Sumter Ave.) 10 a.m -3 p.m. This retreat is co-directed by Deacon Gary Riggi and Sister Dorothy Ederer. Lunch is included. Free will donations are accepted. Please register by May 18.
