REQUEST FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for CR111 (Alcove Road) over Unnamed Stream Bridge Replacement Project, will be received by the Albany County Purchasing Agent, 112 State Street. Room 1000, Albany, New York 12207 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Request for bid (RFB) documents may be obtained at the office of the Albany County Purchasing Agent, as noted above. RFB documents may be available for download from the Empire State Bid System website at http://www.empirestatebidsystem.com starting by close of business (4:30 p.m.) on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

The work site is located on CR111 and has three adjacent corrugated metal pipes carrying an unnamed stream adjacent to the residence at 440 County Road 111, Coeymans, NY 12087.

The work includes:

This is a bridge replacement project that includes removing the existing corrugated metal pipes, adjusting the existing stream profile, performing stream reconstruction, installing concrete footing doweled into bedrock, installing a precast three-sided concrete structure with cast-in-place concrete footings and wingwalls, and roadway reconstruction within the project limits.

Plans, specifications, and bid proposal forms will be provided on a USB drive in PDF format (ADOBE) and may be obtained at the office of the Albany County Purchasing Agent listed above. Contractors shall contact the Purchasing Department to schedule an appointment to pick up bid documents.

This is a LUMP SUM BID. Each proposal must be made on an official Bid Form and must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the base bid as security.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond each in the full amount of the contract price.

A site visit will be held on Thursday January 11, 2024 @10:00am at the Albany County Water Purification South Plant 209 Church Street Albany NY 12202. This is the only scheduled site visit. Interested bidders are strongly urged to attend.
