Niskayuna associate makes commitment with the Dominican Sisters of Peace
COLUMBUS, OHIO — Joining the Dominican Sisters of Peace as an associate represents a profound affirmation of one’s commitment to serve and uphold spiritual values. It involves a pledge to extend peace, compassion and goodwill, echoing the community’s mission.
On Sunday, Aug. 6, associates in Niskayuna welcomed discerning associate Wendi Enright, who made her two-year commitment, eliciting heartfelt rejoicing.
“Welcome to the Dominican family, Wendi!” said Prioress Sister Patricia Twohill, OP. “We are so proud to welcome you as part of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and Associates. Associates are essential to our work for peace and helping to spread love and light around the world.”
Both in-house and virtual attendees, including associates, sisters, family members and friends, witnessed this momentous event. A reception with refreshments and fellowship ensued, further enhancing the feeling of unity and shared joy. The Dominican Sisters of Peace, members of the pontifical Order of Preachers, are vowed Catholic women who strive to live a life of peace-making. The Dominican Sisters of Peace are present in 22 states and two countries. The sisters serve God’s people in many ways, including education, health care, spirituality, pastoral care, prison ministry, the arts and care of creation. There are more than 325 sisters and over 200 lay associates affiliated with the congregation.
