FRIDAY, JULY 28

Athens

Parking Spaces at the Community of St. Patrick’s: We will be selling parking spaces at St. Patrick’s Church, 24 North Washington St., for the six concerts at Athens Riverfront Park this summer. The next upcoming concerts are Friday, July 28, from 5:30-8 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 4, from 5:30-8 p.m. If you are a member of the St. Patrick’s family and are planning to attend any of the events, please consider parking at our lot to help support the church ($5 per car).

Saratoga 

Young Adult Adoration & Cornhole at St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., at 6 p.m., hosted by the Diocese of Albany in collaboration with Adirondack Catholic. Join us for Adoration, BBQ dinner, and a cornhole tournament — yes, brackets and two-person teams! Ice cream social to follow. Event is for young adults (ages 18-39).

First Friday Devotional Services at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 600 State Street, (corner of State and Lafayette Streets), following the 12:15 p.m. Mass. There will be Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, including exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome! The church is handicapped accessible and parking is available behind the church. “The Chosen” viewing at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., at 6 p.m. Come watch the hit series, “The Chosen,” presented by the Adult Faith Formation Team and Family Life Ministry. “The Chosen” is a realistic, fictional depiction of Jesus’ mission years with his apostles and disciples. The actors, scenery and plots are engrossing and the dialogue is gripping. You will think, cry, laugh and grow in your faith as you watch the story unfold. Additional dates to come!

The purpose of this event is to grow in our relationship with Christ and establish a plan to bring this energy back to our families and parish families. Benefit Cornhole Tournament: Join us at the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus, 328 Troy-Schenectady Road, for a Benefit Cornhole Tournament for Devin Mahoney. Devin is 23 years old and a 2018 graduate of Shaker High School who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer. Tournament information: 11 a.m. registration; 64 teams max; $100 per team; 12 p.m. start time; and double elimination. First prize is $500, second place is $250.
