The doors open at 4:30 p.m., the kitchen window (which is staffed by the Catholic Daughters) opens at 5:30 p.m., games go on sale at 6 p.m., and the first game starts at 7 p.m. Every week there is $1,500 in guaranteed prize money. God’s Gift Thrift Shop at St. Joseph’s Church (1820 U.S. Rte. 9). Come to St. Joseph’s to shop lightly used and new items from our God’s Gift Thrift Shop in the Parish Hall. We will be open on Fridays (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m.-3 p.m.) in December, and closed during Christmas week. Proceeds will benefit the Church of St. Joseph.

Tea & Short Readings: Join Blessed Sacrament Church for the six Wednesdays of January (and one of February) for more discussions of short stories, poems and essays! We will meet every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., at the Pine Hills Branch of the Albany Public Library (517 Western Ave.) Tackle the reading on your own time (each reading is available on Blessed Sacrament Church’s website) and then come on Wednesdays ready to discuss it over a cup of tea. (Snacks to share are welcome but by no means expected!) Feel free to take the stories and set up your own meetings at a more convenient time and place with friends and neighbors! At the next session, we will be reading “The Light Princess” by George MacDonald.
