FRIDAY, AUGUST 4

Schenectady

First Friday Devotional Services at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 600 State Street, (corner of State and Lafayette Streets), following the 12:15 p.m. Mass. There will be Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, including exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome! The church is handicapped accessible and parking is available behind the church. SATURDAY, AUGUST 5

Round Lake

Drive-Thru Overdose Training: Learn how to save a life in just 10 minutes! You will never know when and where an individual will experience a drug overdose (a house party, college dorm, concert or drive-in). Corpus Christi Church (2001 Route 9) will sponsor a free, 10-minute drive-through training in the parking lot from 12-3 p.m. Representatives from Saratoga County Public Health Services will be on hand to train individuals to recognize an opioid overdose and how to administer a lifesaving dose of nasal Narcan. Free Narcan kits will be provided. Please stop by! 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 6

Guilderland

“The Chosen” viewing at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., at 6 p.m. Come watch the hit series, “The Chosen,” presented by the Adult Faith Formation Team and Family Life Ministry. “The Chosen” is a realistic, fictional depiction of Jesus’ mission years with his apostles and disciples. The actors, scenery and plots are engrossing and the dialogue is gripping. You will think, cry, laugh and grow in your faith as you watch the story unfold. Additional dates to come!

Charismatic Renewal at Christ Our Light Roman Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive. Step Up Men’s Conference 2023 at Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine, 136 Shrine Road, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The Step Up Men’s Conference will give men the tools needed to grow in holi­ness in their everyday lives. The event will include presentations from Father Larry Richards and Deacon Darrell Miller, Reconciliation, Adora­tion, rosary, and 4 p.m. Mass. The purpose of this event is to grow in our relationship with Christ and establish a plan to bring this energy back to our families and parish families. Family of the Holy Cross Network Garage Sale: The Family of the Holy Cross is sponsoring a garage sale to support the Faith Formation Program in their parishes from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., in the St. Francis de Sales Hall, 219 N. Bellinger St. They are looking for donations that are gently used, such as: kitchen items, jewelry, hand tools, knickknacks, toys, games, frames, bedding, small items of furniture (no large tables, chairs or sofas). They will not accept clothing of any kind, baby or otherwise, books, electronics, rugs, stuffed animals, or any large items. Items can be dropped off at the St. Francis de Sales office from Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and after the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday. Items may also be dropped off on Thurs­day, Aug. 10, from 6-7 p.m. Please bring items to the church hall.
