RESOLVED, By the County Legislature of the County of Albany that a public hearing on proposed Local Law No. “B” for 2023, “A Local Law of the County of Albany Providing Real Property Tax Exemptions for Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers Pursuant to Real Property Tax Law § 466-A” to be held by the Albany County Legislature at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, with participation information to be made available on the Albany County website, and the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to cause notice of such hearing to be published containing the necessary information in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS –

ALBANY COUNTY

REQUEST FOR BIDS

#2023-055

Sealed bids for Krumkill Road Bridge over Normanskill Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project, will be received by the Albany County Purchasing Agent, 112 State Street. Room 1000, Albany, New York 12207 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Request for bid (RFB) documents may be obtained at the office of the Albany County Purchasing Agent, as noted above. RFB documents may be available for download from the Empire State Bid System website at http://www.empirestatebidsystem.com starting by close of business (4:30 p.m.) on April 20, 2023.

The work site is located on Krumkill Road and spans over Normanskill Creek adjacent to the residence at 879 Krumkill Rd, Slingerlands, NY, 12159.

The work includes:

Rehabilitation of the existing bridge, which consists of localized steel repairs, full blast cleaning and painting of the superstructure below the splash zone, and localized paint removal and overcoating above the splash zone. Additional site work includes regrading the shoulder break areas in each quadrant to improve drainage, removal and reinstallation of the existing guiderail to perform this work, and filling in erosion gullies on the begin abutment with stone. The localized steel repairs include fatigue prone weld removal, gusset plate strengthening with additional bolted plates, and floor beam strengthening with additional bolted flange cover plates. The existing bridge will remain open during construction with alternating one-way traffic controlled by a temporary signal system.

Plans, specifications, and bid proposal forms will be provided on a USB drive in PDF format (ADOBE) and may be obtained at the office of the Albany County Purchasing Agent listed above. Contractors shall contact the Purchasing Department to schedule an appointment to pick up bid documents.

This is a LUMP SUM BID. Each proposal must be made on an official Bid Form and must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the base bid as security.

Successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond each in the full amount of the contract price.
