A call was made and a call was answered.

Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger wrote an announcement to the Diocese of Albany back in June asking parishioners and parish leaders to assist in the “Walking With Moms in Need” initiative, a nationwide effort to assess, expand and communicate resources to pregnant moms and families.

In his letter, the Bishop called on parish leaders to gather and submit information on individual pregnancy resources offered by or near their churches to the Diocesan Respect Life Office to help compile a list of local resources for pregnant or expecting women, while also highlighting and bringing awareness to these local support systems.

The following list is a compilation of local resources and entities available for women as gathered by parish leaders. Resources include local women’s shelters, pregnancy crisis centers, pro-life medical practices and legal assistance and adoption services serving in various counties across the Diocese, including Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Hudson, Saratoga, Fulton and their surrounding communities. For more information, contact your parish or head to www.walkingwithmoms.com.
