We have been actively in Advent since the time of the Apostles looking forward to the return of the Messiah. We as a Church celebrate the anniversary of the Lord’s first coming, His incarnation which is God’s promise fulfilled, and to remind us His second coming is imminent so we may renew the desire for His second appearance.
Our preparation and anticipation is twofold: 2 Peter 3:9, reminds us not to be lulled into complacency. “The Lord is not slow about His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.”

Please Stop Waiting
Jesus has come and gone. God — Jesus — took human form and walked among us, healing, teaching and sending. He then made the infinite sacrifice of Himself on the Cross to purchase for us forgiveness of sins, new life by faith in Him, and a new covenant. Jesus died but rose three days later. Jesus is alive and well and heals today. Instead of celebrating Advent — waiting for Jesus — please receive Jesus, believe in His Name, be born again, confess Jesus before men, and preach the Gospel.
