Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger of the Diocese of Albany and Bishop Peter Byrne, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York, will attend the 40 Hours of Devotion at Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville on June 24-26.
The event starts Friday, June 24 - on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - at 5 p.m., with a Rosary procession, followed by Mass at 6 p.m. with Bishop Scharfenberger presiding. At 7:15 p.m., Bishop Scharfenberger will lead the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel (long form from St. Leo XIII). On June 25 - the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - Archbishop Byrne will preside over Mass at 10:30 a.m., and Father Justin Maria Cinnante, O.Carm, will preside over the 3:30 p.m. Mass.
On June 26, Father Jeff Pomeisl will celebrate Mass at 9:30 a.m., and Father Cinnante will celebrate Mass at 3 p.m. The days will also be filled with Exposition to the Blessed Sacrament, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Rosary, speakers, spiritual music and a Eucharistic Procession to the Ravine Site.
