The reason for the Bishop’s visit was the blessing of the school’s new Science Lab, designed for students in Grades 5-8. Bishop Scharfenberger was treated to a tour of the school before joining the seventh and eighth graders for a prayer service and blessing of the new classroom. This state-of-the art lab provides a high-school level experience for St. Pius X’s middle schoolers. The expansive space contains two distinct sections: one for lecture and one for practical science experimentation. The six-figure project took several months to complete and the students and faculty could not be more pleased with the result!
Afterwards, the entire student body and faculty assembled outside for a picture and received the Bishop’s blessing as he concluded his visit.
