Catholic Central School announced Dec. 15 the launch of a strategic planning process to develop an actionable plan to be unveiled in early 2023. Rooted in CCS’ mission, vision and guiding values, the plan will also align with the school’s Capital Campaign, which will also launch in 2023.

“The landscape of Catholic education has changed and we have an opportunity to create an exemplary educational model for new generations of Crusaders. Now that we have merged into one school, one mission; we are paving the way for success. The Strategic Plan will provide the blueprint necessary to achieve our goal of a state-of-the-art campus with leading academic programs and a faith-based education.” stated Giovanni Virgiglio, superintendent of the Diocese of Albany.

Leading the effort will be a Core Team comprised of CCS and Diocesan leadership, who will be supported by committees across various planning areas whose members include alumni, teachers, and community members. The school has also retained Eduscape, a nationally-recognized K-12 education innovation firm, to coordinate the comprehensive planning process. The plan will also support the launch of a Capital Campaign in 2023 in partnership with The Procedo Project, a nonprofit focused on the global advancement of Catholic schools.

“I am excited about the Strategic Planning process because it will clearly delineate goals and objectives with benchmarks for accountability and transparency to the greater CCS community.” said Lily Spera, CCS Lower School principal.

The Core Team will be securing regular input from various stakeholder groups, who will also participate on committees ensuring that the process is engaged and inclusive. Committees will include but not be limited to: Academic Excellence, Resource Planning, Community and Programs and Catholic Identity. Intake surveys will be distributed digitally to various stakeholder groups this week, which solicits their perspective on CCS’ impact and opportunities.

“The fact that we will engage a wide range of stakeholders ensures that we will have representation by the very communities we are serving. We are looking forward to the completion of the plan so we can begin taking actionable steps as soon as 2023 begins,” said Rich Harrigan, CCS Upper School principal.
