Bishop to celebrate White Mass on Oct. 2 at Auriesville Shrine
Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger will celebrate the annual White Mass for Health Care Workers on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. in the Coliseum church at the Our Lady of Martyr’s Shrine in Auriesville. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health care professionals are invited to attend the liturgy, which is co-sponsored by the St. Luke’s Guild and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. Following Mass, participants are invited to enjoy the grounds of the shrine.
The White Mass — named for the color worn by those in the medical profession — gathers health care professionals under the patronage of St. Luke to ask God’s blessing on patients, doctors, nurses and caregivers alike.
