Eagle Scout Maximilian Szczesny, Troop 4045, designed, coordinated and led the construction of a Rosary Garden and Path at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. The project’s goal was to build a space that would give parishioners the ability to pray the Rosary outside in a meditative environment. Szczesny partnered with Father Patrick Butler, pastor, and key members of the parish’s building and grounds and gardening committees to design the project, which was built on an overgrown space near the front of the church. The project consisted of removing several bushes and shrubs to open the space, removing existing sod, laying weed cloth and spreading mulch inside the garden, making and installing concrete pavers and spreading gravel within an edged path for a walkable space. The entire Rosary Garden and Path area was approximately 2,000 square feet. (Photos provided)
