At the conclusion of the Mass, State Regent Theresa Duran presented Bishop Scharfenberger with a check for $1,500 from the Marie C. Curry Seminary Scholarship Fund. The seminary fund is a special state court project funded by all of the local courts. Each year the state court presents similar awards to each of the bishops in the eight dioceses of the state to be used as financial aid for seminarians.
Those attending the liturgy with Bishop Scharfenberger included: New York State Regent Theresa Duran, First Vice State Regent Connie Briendel, Second Vice State Regent Tina Bigelo, State Secretary Patti Drivanos and State Treasurer Judy Sterling; Past National Regent Helene Shepard, Past State Regent Heather Rave and Past State Officer Emma Lou Smith; Regent Mary Tripp, Financial Secretary Barbara Mielkarski, District Deputy and PR Chapter Secretary Mary Morse, District Deputy and PR Chapter Treasurer Marlene Nalli, Christine and Dennis Jones, Heather and Marc Gay, Maryann Bogden and Doris Dutcher from Court #265 in Ilion; Treasurer Mary Anuska, Financial Secretary Candace Lansing, PR Chapter Vice President Patricia Nobes, Marion Zrelak and Vickie Wilder from Court #248 in Hudson; Recording Secretary Dawn Weber, PR Chapter President DeLynn Wickham, Barbara Niles, Kathy Dorn and Mary Rose Turo from Court #422 in Saratoga Springs.
