Catholic Charities is looking for volunteers to assist in the packaging and distribution of food for February. These food distributions — or “drive-thru pantries” — are a part of Catholic Charities’ mobile outreach initiative, CC MOVE, which is an effort to provide supplemental food in areas with limited access to services at a time when many are struggling. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:15 a.m. for morning distributions, which last from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Food items provided by the Regional Food Bank will be pre-packaged by volunteers from partnering organizations. Distributions are open to the public and no pre-registration is required. There will be two distribution lines: a drive-through line and a walk-in line. Due to traffic concerns, guests are asked to not arrive prior to the start time.
The remaining dates in February include:
Feb. 16 - Watervliet High School, 1245 Hillside Dr., Watervliet
Feb. 18 - Berne Knox Westerlo Central School, 1738 Helderberg Trail, Berne
Feb. 22 - Metropolitan Church, 105 Second St., Albany
Feb. 24 - Albany, 230 Green St., Albany
Feb. 25 - Lansingburgh Boys/Girls Club, 501 4th Ave., Troy
Feb. 26 - Macedonia Baptist Church, 26 Wilson Ave., Albany
