Catholic Charities’ Night at the Museum fundraiser - in its eighth year, but held virtually for the first time this year - was a success once again, raising $150,000.
"This year has certainly not been what we expected, but our staff at Catholic Charities was able to adapt and put together a really special evening,” said Vincent W. Colonno, CEO of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Albany. “I, for one, am grateful for the opportunity to honor two dedicated community partners in Tom Roohan and the Regional Food Bank. Above all, I am appreciative of our incredibly dedicated supporters, who tuned in for our virtual presentation of Night at the Museum. We simply could not do our work without them.”
The event, held on June 18, is the organization’s premier fundraising night and the money raised “will be distributed across the Catholic Charities system in support of our work in the Diocese, from emergency financial assistance, to domestic violence programs, to affordable housing,” said Eileen Spath, marketing and communications manager for Catholic Charities.
The virtual event included video, music and speakers, including emcee Kumi Tucker of NewsChannel 13, Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger, and honorees Rool
Guests registered online and had the option of picking up a to-go dinner from Mazzone Hospitality and purchasing a “mystery” bottle of wine from the Night at the Museum wine pull, which also benefited Catholic Charities’ programs and services.
