Sacred Heart School in Troy will hold its 22nd annual auction online from June 22-26.
The auction — titled, “Sacred Heart’s Night on the Nile” — a crucial fundraiser for the school, was originally scheduled for May 9, postponed until June 26, and canceled in its usual form because of COVID-19 gathering restrictions.
Chairs Mark Bagnoli, Nicole Johnson, and Karen and Jay Snyder have mailed out over 860 invitations and notices to parish and school families, as well as 58 special requests to area parishes without schools asking them to post the auction in their bulletins.
“We usually realize up to $18,000 each year and COVID-19 has definitely changed things up for everyone,” said Karen Snyder, who runs development and public relations at the school. “The biggest negative is that the person-to-person auction provides great food, beverages and conversation for all those attending and an online auction is a little more impersonal to say the least.”
