The Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Americas in Albany has partnered with Openworld Relief to host the 8th Community Food Pantry Box in the Capital Region. The Pantry Box (shown in the photo with parishioners Aldo and Joaquin Escalante) provides a safe and respectful way for those in need to freely access basic foods donated by parishioners and the community. Members of the Northeastern Woodworkers Association built the pantry box which is located on the sidewalk on North Lake Avenue near the Church. The Pantry Box welcomes non-perishable donations such as rice, beans, pasta, canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, breakfast bars, soup, tuna fish, bread and cooking oil. Join this outreach to the neighborhood by leaving non-perishable food items in the box. For more information, contact Mary Giordano at (518) 248-5565.
