Gift Guide correction

It has been brought to the attention of The Evangelist that in the gift guide that we ran on Dec. 3, one organization should not have been included. Doctors Without Borders, which has many merits, also supports “safe” abortion. We regret this mistake pointed out to us by several readers. The story has been updated online and, at the suggestion of several readers, we are recommending donating to the Catholic Medical Mission Board, which according to its website (cmmb.org) has been “for more than 100 years, firm in our Catholic faith (and) working to deliver the best possible health solutions to women and children in need with dignity, respect and love,” and Community Hospice (communityhospice.org), which serves seriously ill people and their families and is located in Albany. Again we regret the error.
