The successful “Pints with Priest” online series returns Aug. 27 with a twist.
Sister Betsy Van Deusen, CSJ, will be the guest host for “Sips with Sisters” in which local faithful get the chance to socialize and converse with a local sister on Google Zoom. Just like “Pints with Priests,” “Sips with Sisters” is your chance to get to know our religious more personally, with questions ranging from the light-hearted to practical and theological.
Sister Betsy has been a Sister of Saint Joseph of Carondelet since 1988 and is presently the Director of Community Partnerships for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany. Her ministries have included – inner city ministry at St. John’s/St. Ann’s in Albany’s South End; director of Church Relations for Habitat for Humanity based in Americus, GA; shelter coordinator in the domestic violence shelter at Unity House in Troy, campus minister at Catholic Central in Troy; youth ministry and Evangelization/Christian Service at St. Helen’s (now St. Kateri Tekakwitha) Parish in Schenectady. Sister Betsy was born and raised in Schoharie County and is passionate about justice and Catholic Social Teaching.
