The Diocese of Albany announces the following change of assignments effective Sept. 1 (unless otherwise noted): Father James Ebert, pastor at Mater Christi Parish in Albany and current Vicar for Clergy in the Diocese, has been named the new pastor at St. Clement’s Church in Saratoga Springs. Currently,Father Juanito Asprec is the interim pastor at that parish.
Father Michael Cambi, pastor at Sacred Heart in Stamford and St. Philip Neri in Grand Gorge and the Episcopal Vicar of the Leatherstocking Vicariate, has been named the new pastor at St. Mary’s Church in Cooperstown, which has had an interim pastor since April of 2019.
Father Robert DeMartinis, who will remain pastor at St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam, has been named new pastor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Amsterdam.
Father Jeffrey L’Arche, who will remain pastor at St. Mary’s in Amsterdam,has been named pastor at St. Stephen’s Church in Hagaman.
Father Marty Fisher and Deacon Joe Cechnicki will lead the Interim Team at Sacred Heart in Stamford; Father Gregg Weider and Deacon Joe Cechnicki will lead the Interim Team at Sacred Heart in Margaretville; Father John Bradley and Deacon Michael McDonald will lead the Interim Team at Mater Christi Parish in Albany; Father Tom Konopka and Deacon Michael McDonald will lead the Interim Team at St. John the Evangelist & St. Joseph’s Church in Rensselaer (effective Aug. 5) and Father Bob Powhida and Deacon Joe Tyrrell will lead the Interim Team at St. Mary’s Church in Granville (effective Aug. 5).
