The Diocese of Albany has started a new series of young adult online gatherings titled, “Pints with Priests: Physically distant, spiritually connected.”
The series, which will take place every other Thursday, began April 30 and was hosted on Google Zoom from 7:30-9 p.m. Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger was the first guest and 89 people participated online and submitted 76 questions.
“Our first Pints with Priests online young adult event included (nearly) 90 attendees and was a huge success,” said Thomas Cronin, advisor to the Bishop for Evangelization. “It included an engaging conversation with Bishop Ed that was lighthearted, practical and theological. We are excited about doing it again. … It’s a great platform to stay engaged with young adults and provide an opportunity to get to know the man behind the collar.
Future guests include: Father Sam Bellafiore, May 14; Father Kyle Eads, May 28 and Father David Mickiewicz, June 11.The purpose of the gatherings is to enjoy a pint of your favorite drink or ice cream, socialize and partake in an engaging conversation with a priest. Pints with Priests is your chance to get to know our clergy more personally.
