Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger and nearly 300 young people and adults are heading to Indianapolis on Nov. 21-23 for the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC).
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Blessed, Broken, Given.’ According to the NCYC website, the ‘theme is rooted in the scriptural account of Jesus meeting the two disciples on their way to Emmaus after the resurrection (Luke 24:13-35).’ The featured hosts are Armando Cervantes, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Orange in California and Monica Nelson, Assistant Director of Admission for Benedictine College in Kansas.
The opening session starts Thursday, Nov. 21, runs from 8-10 p.m. and features Katie Prejean McGrady and Father Agustino Torres, CFR LOS. The closing Mass is Saturday, Nov. 23, from 8-10:30 p.m. and will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.
