CUPCAKE WARS

Students, faculty and staff at Bishop Maginn high school participated in their 6th annual Cupcake Wars to benefit Catho­lic Relief Services Lenten Operation Rice Bowl last week. Faculty and students picked the winners, including most beautiful, most creative and best tasting. Religion teacher Mrs. Sue Silverstein-Gilligan runs the event every year. Mrs. Silverstein-Gilligan also had her class participate in love letters to unborn babies as part of a Valentine religion class activity. She hoped that the exercise would help students identify with children still in utero as a response to the recent Reproductive Health Act.
