Bishop Scharfenberger announces three appointments
In order to assist him and the Episcopal Vicars in the pastoral care of the faithful in parishes, and to support parish leaders and clergy throughout the Diocese, Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger has made the following appointments, effective immediately:
Rev. Robert Longobucco as Vicar General, collaborating with Rev. David LeFort, also Vicar General, to provide expanded support for parishes. Father Longobucco will remain Vicar for Catholic Faith Formation and Education and Pastor of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Schenectady;
Rev. Donald Rutherford as Director of Pastoral Care for Clergy, whether assigned or not to active ministry, while remaining Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Watervliet;
Rev. David LeFort will remain Vicar General and Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, while assuming the role of Moderator of the Curia.
