Rev. John Rosson of St. Mary’s Church in Cooperstown retired April 1 after serving 19 years in the parish. Father Rosson’s final Mass was Sunday, March 31.
Father Peter Pagones, who retired from St. Paul the Apostle and Our Lady of Mount Carmel churches in Schenectady last July, will be interim pastor.
Before coming to St. Mary’s, Father Rosson, who joined the Diocese of Albany in 1981, served as pastor at St. John the Baptist Church in Schenectady.
Father Rosson was also campus priest at Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta.
Father Rosson, 71, a native of Dobbs Ferry, entered the Order of Augustian Recollects in 1966 as a novice, and was ordained a priest in 1975.
