In August, TYLER MARINI of Christian Brothers Academy in Albany and MEGAN MARINI and JULIA TRONCO of the Academy of the Holy Names in Albany introduced the St. Catherine’s Cookie Club. They set up a table outside Bellini’s restaurant in Latham and sold cookies and other treats to patrons, with the proceeds being donated to St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Albany, which offers human services to children and families. The trio raised $414 in one afternoon....

After several minutes, I was blessed to hear the doctor talking to my daughter, MARIA, and my granddaughter, HEATHER, clearly after three years of growing deafness. REV. FRANK O’CONNOR brings me communion every Friday and reads the Gospel for each coming Sunday. The Gospel for that Sunday told the story of Jesus healing the deaf man. I felt blessed that I was also healed by Jesus’ love and concern for me. He gave the skill to the doctor"....
“See you at the pole” will take place Sept. 26 at All Saints on the Hudson parish in Mechanicville/ Stillwater. Youth get up early on a school morning to pray at the flagpoles at the parish workship sites at 6:55 and 7 a.m. respectively for the nation’s leaders, for the community, for their schools, teachers and friends and for world peace. The theme for this year is, “Broken, I fall on my knees to the Father” (Eph 3:14). The global movement began in 1990; today, millions pray on the fourth Wednesday in September. See www.syatp.com....
On April 27, 2019, BISHOP EDWARD B. SCHARFENBERGER will celebrate a Mass during a conference sponsored by the EnCourage NY and Courage NY support groups of the Archdiocese of New York.
