Pictured at right, the XC team from Christian Brothers Academy in Albany volunteers to raise money for Patriot Flight, a non-profit that enables veterans to travel to Washington, DC, to tour the monuments built in their honor, and students show their appreciation for local veterans by hosting a special Patriot Flight sendoff ceremony in the NED MCGRAW gymnasium. Local politicians joined the CBA school community and the wider community to see the veterans off....

ALEKSANDR LORENC of Our Lady of Grace parish in Ballston Lake had two “packing parties” at the parish: As part of his Eagle Scout Project, parishioners packed toys and treats into shoeboxes to send to children in need around the world for Christmas through the Operation Christmas Child project overseen by Samaritan’s Purse. A parish “brew fest” at St. Ambrose in Latham drew more than 375 people and 60 volunteers, with $3,500 raised for the parish school. Alum CORBIN FRIDGEN procured the beer donations and the band twenty ninety-six provided music....
St. Mary’s in Glens Falls and St. Michael’s in South Glens Falls report that Boy Scout Troop 2 has been busy: At a court of honor, 15 scouts received 77 merit badges and rank advancement was given to JACOB HAJOS, VINCENT CLOHOSEY, ANTHONY GUZMAN, WALLACE LOONAN, RAPHAEL SANOK, JULIAN AND HENRY CAMPOPIANO, NOLAN MOORE, ETHAN SCHWANER, THOMAS COMBS, BRENDAN KULKA and KYLE STRONG. The troop attended the Twin Rivers Council fall Camporee at the Altamont Fairgrounds along with adults and leaders RYAN AND MICHAEL WINKELMAN, BILL MOORE, JASON CAMPOPIANO, KATHLEEN SKELLIE and CHRIS JONES. The troop is helping a contingent of scouts and leaders prepare for a trek to the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico next summer. The group has hiked Sleeping Beauty Mountain and had a weekend backpacking trip to Crane Pond. SCOTT JONES earned his Eagle Scout rank....
St. Joseph’s in Stuyvesant Falls/Stottville is welcoming FRANDY MARTINEZ, who will be working for the parish and for St. James in Chatham and St. John the Baptist in Valatie while also in discernment for the priesthood. He recently arrived from the Dominican Republic and will be an asset to parish outreach with the Spanish-speaking community. The Diocese is looking for a donation of a car they can give him for his ministry....
The youth ministry at All Saints on the Hudson parish in Mechanicville/Stillwater is planning a “rake and run” service project Nov. 4, 1-3 p.m.; local senior citizens or people in need can call the faith formation office at (518) 664-3354 to have their leaves raked.
