After hearing a proposal from Delaware River Solar, the finance council at St. Paul’s parish in Hancock decided to subscribe the parish to the local solar farm program. “Not only are we confident that this will be more fiscally responsible, but also environmentally responsible,” members said.

St. Joseph’s Church in West Winfield will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year; plans are already underway....

Corpus Christi parish in Round Lake closed its parish office building for Mass and meetings during construction. At Immaculate Conception in Glenville, construction of a building connecting the “Flicker Room” to the parish center has begun.

Immaculate Conception parishioner TIM ZUKAS won third place in a crossword puzzle competition. MATT MELSERT and his sister, MARY GILDEA, primed and painted the rails to all of the entrances to the church and parish center. CLARA MONGIOVI is a 2018 honoree for a Senior Lifetime Achievement award; a ceremony honoring all honorees will be held Oct. 10 at Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany.

Two parishioners of Corpus Christi recently walked 100 miles of the Portuguese Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in northwest Spain. CECILY BAILEY and TINA MCQUISTON traveled from the Portuguese border to the shrine of the Apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. Prior to the trip, intentions were collected from the Corpus Christi community; they were carried along the route and placed at the foot of the tomb that holds the remains of the martyred St. James....

Immaculate Conception in Glenville also congratulates soprano and choir member EDDA ROEMELT, who gave a recital at the parish....

At last count, St. Joseph’s parish in Scotia had collected 248,514 pennies ($2,485.14), which calculates to 2.94 miles’ worth of pennies. The parish goal is five miles....

DONALD WEBSTER repaired two St. Joseph statues and an Infant of Prague statue at Sacred Heart in Sidney; instead of reimbursing him, he requested donations to a local food bank.
