Some great parish events are coming up:

•  On July 29 at the 10:30 a.m. Mass, St. Adalbert’s parish in Schenectady will celebrate the feast of Ss. Anne and Joachim, the grandparents of Jesus; and at the same Mass on Aug. 26, there will be a celebration of the feast of the Black Madonna, with a reception afterward.

•  St. Matthew’s parish in Voor­heesville will sponsor a concert by popular Christian musician MATT MAHER Aug. 5, 7 p.m.,  at Clayton A. Bouton High School, Voorheesville. Tickets (see www.iTickets.com) are $25 in advance for adults ($20 for groups of 10 or more) and $20 for students. At the door, tickets will be $30....

One family who recently attended Mass and a coffee hour at Holy Spirit parish in East Greenbush came all the way from Kenya. In other Holy Spirit news, parishioner MARTIN KELLY’S newest book, “A Cat’s Tale,” will be available for sale the weekend of July 7-8 after Masses for $10; proceeds benefit the Holy Spirit building fund....

Parishioners of Our Lady of Hope in Fort Plain will take part in the 20th anniversary of “Cycle the Erie Canal” by manning a food tent July 13. Bicyclists travel from Buffalo to Albany....

Immaculate Conception in Glenville notes that parishioner LIZ UTZIG is working with the pastoral associate for youth ministry, CHRISTINE GOSS, to begin a new ministry to connect members with similar interests....

St. Mary’s in Albany is grieving long-tenured parish organist WOODY MAXWELL, who passed away recently. He was described as “a generous and devoted parishioner, skilled attorney and trusted advisor who shared his time, talent and treasure with the people of St Mary’s” and also “served as our institutional memory, helping to preserve so much of the history, personal recollections and experiences that provided an understanding of the uniqueness of St. Mary’s”....

The choir from St. Mary’s in Ballston Spa teamed up with the parish’s contemporary music group for a June 24 Mass marking the 50th anniversary of REV. THOMAS KELLY’S ordination....

REV. PRIMO PISCITELLO, OFM, who is in residence at St. Anthony’s in Troy, just celebrated the 58th anniversary of his priestly ordination....

St. Mary’s in Nassau noted that former pastor REV. ANTONE KANDRAC, OFM Conv., is recovering from a fall and a broken wrist. Also, parishioners RON AND PAT MOCERINE are marking their 50th wedding anniversary....

MARCUS AND SANDY GIG­LI­OTTI of St. Mary’s in Crescent are also celebrating 50 years of marriage, as are MIMI AND NORM FACKLAM and HELEN AND VAUGHN FOWLER of St. Mary’s in Glens Falls and DON AND ROSE LYMAN of Holy Spirit in East Greenbush. Christ the King parish in Westmere, Albany, noted TOM BAKER’S 90th birthday.
