OBITUARY
Sister Theresa Brown, CSJ
A funeral Mass was offered June 11 in the chapel of St. Joseph’s Provincial House, Latham, for Sister Theresa Brown, who died June 4. She was 89 and had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 71 years.
A native of Syracuse, she was in the ministry of education for 40 years in schools of the Albany and Syracuse Dioceses, including 16 years as teacher and principal at St. Lucy’s, Syracuse. In addition, she was a parish minister for 23 years at St. Brigid’s/St. Joseph’s Church in Syracuse.
Survivors include her siblings, Carol Kirchgessner, Rita Gorman and Ralph and James Brown. Interment was in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham.
