Pictured at right, the Troy chapter of the Ladies of Charity treats members of the Daughters of Charity religious order living at DePaul Provincial House in Menands to an ice cream social. The annual event was greatly enjoyed by the sisters, the Ladies of Charity reported....

The Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate religious order notes the 75th jubilee of SISTER AGNES CECILIA FORD, PVMI, who has served in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maine. In the Albany Diocese, she did visitation of the elderly and infirm at St. Vincent’s, St. James, Blessed Sacrament and St. Mary’s parishes, all in Albany, and  worked at St. John’s Social Service Center in Albany. She was also the local superior for her order. Since 2005, she’s been living in retirement downstate....

The Franciscan Friars Conventual, representing 180 friars in the eastern United States and Canada, voted to support statements by the Franciscan Action Network and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops calling for a just and swift resolution to the national immigration crisis. “We are dismayed at the federal government’s inability to arrive at just immigration solutions,” they stated. “We support the creation of a path for reunification and healing of the trauma currently being endured by many”....

DAN BERNSTEIN performed at the Eden Cafe in Loudonville as a fundraiser to benefit the soup kitchen at St. John’s/St. Ann’s Outreach Center in Albany....

St. Joseph’s parish in Greenwich has lost its oldest parishioner: WINIFRED MOSHER passed away June 21 at the age of 100. A native of North Greenwich and lifelong resident of the area, she graduated from Albany Business College and had four children, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Recognized for her culinary abilities, she had been active in 4-H, the Home and Farm Bureau, the Washington County Fair, senior citizens’ groups and Republican politics....

Our Lady of Victory parish in Troy and its mission, Our Lady of the Snow Church in Grafton, announce that JOSH ZLOTNICK, a junior at Berlin Central High School and a newly confirmed parishioner, has been awarded Eagle Scout rank for Troop 2222. At OLS, he assembled a work crew to restore a stone walkway and staircase that connect the old and new churches....

St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Albany has received a five-year, $2,500,000 Health Home Supportive Housing grant from the New York State Department of Health that will be used to extend St. Catherine’s Project HOST. The grant provides supportive housing and other services for homeless or unstably housed Medicaid members who are enrolled in New York State’s Health Home Program. St. Catherine’s Project HOST (Healthy Outcomes and Supported Transitions) provides critical supportive housing services to adults.
