The Cathedral Choir School of Albany is seeking boys and girls who like to sing. The after-school program trains children in kindergarten through eighth grade to sing at Masses; 2018 rehearsals begin Aug. 10 for grades three to eight and Sept. 19 for grades K-2. The Town of Grafton’s summer festival will be held in Grafton Town Park July 14. Among the attractions are Civil War reenactors; “SISTER KENAN MCGOWAN’S memorial giant raffle,” with close to 100 prizes and a grand prize of $1,500; a barbecue; food by local Boy Scouts; live music; a band from Our Lady of the Snow Church in Grafton and the Troy area; a craft fair and flea market; booths by community organizations; baked goods by Our Lady of the Snow parishioners; and youth activities by the youth ministry of Our Lady of Victory parish in Troy. Golfers gathered in June at the Colonie Golf and Country Club for the annual Hope “Fore” Tomorrow golf tournament to benefit St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Albany. This year, 62 golfers helped raise $19,000....

The valedictorian of Mechanicville High School, MIA TEAL, and the valedictorian of Stillwater High, EMMA BISAILLON, were co-presidents of the youth council at All Saints on the Hudson parish in Mechanicville/Stillwater. Both expressed their appreciation at being part of the council throughout high school, saying variously: “We loved meetings and sharing ideas; it brought contagious excitement.” “Preparing for events, members gave off such radiant positive energy!” “It opened many doors to meeting new friends while helping the community and having fun.” “Seeing happiness on the people’s faces after we helped them brought joy to us.” “We gained a closer relationship with Jesus, the one whom we serve, and our parish community”....
